I saw this green bee one day when I was working in our backyard. It was really amazing to see such an unusual insect. I researched information about green bees, and it turns out they are indigenous to Central Texas! They are commonly known as Sweat bees (metallic green), and the scientific species is Halictidae. It turns out that there are many more bee species than I realized, including metallic blue bees! There’s always room for learning, and I am very glad I got the opportunity to photograph this beautiful insect!
